Overview


B2Gold is a leading international gold producer committed to delivering value to its stakeholders. Our team of experts in Nunavut, Canada, is seeking a highly skilled Underground Mining Surveyor to join our ranks.



About the Role


This is an exciting opportunity to work on one of our significant projects, the Back River Project, which has contributed to both B2Gold Nunavut and valued Contractors.



Responsibilities



  • Conduct detailed underground surveys to determine precise locations, elevations, and dimensions of passages;
  • Utilize advanced surveying equipment and technology such as total stations, GPS, and laser scanners;
  • Perform vertical raise layouts, control surveys, stope markups, and vent surveys;
  • Verify accuracy of survey data, including measurements and calculations conducted at survey sites;
  • Collaborate with mining engineers, geologists, and other technical staff to integrate survey data into mining plans and operations;
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols while performing underground surveys;
  • Complete risk assessments and hazard identification in surveyed areas;
  • Prepare detailed reports and documentation of survey findings and present them to management;
  • Ensure proper maintenance and calibration of surveying equipment.


Requirements and Qualifications



  • Five years' experience in surveying underground mining production;
  • Diploma in Surveying, Geomatics, Mining Technology, or related field;
  • Proficiency in using surveying instruments (total stations, GPS, laser scanners) and related software (Deswik, or AutoCAD);
  • Knowledge of overall mining methods with a focus on underground mining methods.


Compensation and Benefits


The estimated annual earnings for this role are $154,336.00 for 2184 scheduled hours, combined regular hourly rate of $56 and overtime rate of $84.
