Job Summary

The Pharmacy Department Manager at Lakeridge Health is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Pharmacy department. This includes managing drug distribution, medication management, and narcotic and controlled substance oversight, as well as leading a team of pharmacists and technicians.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement department processes to ensure efficient and effective operations
  • Manage and lead a team of pharmacists and technicians to achieve business goals and objectives
  • Collaborate with the Pharmacy leadership team and other healthcare teams to ensure seamless communication and coordination
  • Ensure adherence to legislation and professional standards, and maintain high-quality care
  • Develop and manage budgets and monitor costs associated with pharmaceutical projections and utilization
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy (or equivalent entry-to-practice degree)
  • Current registration in good standing with the Ontario College of Pharmacists
  • Minimum of 5 years of pharmacy hospital practice with supervisory, management, or leadership experience
  • Advanced Pharmacy degree (Pharm.D) from a recognized university, an asset
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, time management, leadership skills, project management skills
  • Excellent change management, organizational planning, assessment and evaluation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with healthcare professionals
  • Demonstrated ability to lead effectively and create a high-performance culture through management strategies that facilitate growth and development
  • Demonstrated knowledge of hospital functions and current trends in healthcare
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a unionized environment
  • Proven conflict management/resolution skills
  • Proven ability to critically analyze and problem-solve
  • Understanding of Accreditation Canada and Ontario College of Pharmacists Hospital Inspection standards and processes
