Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team at Lakeridge Health. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy, quality, and timeliness of pharmaceutical products and releases.

Key Responsibilities
  • Reporting to the Manager, Pharmacy, you will be accountable for the technical aspects of drug distribution.
  • You will work to ensure patient safety and for the accuracy, quality, integrity, and timeliness of pharmaceutical products and releases.
  • Registration with the Ontario College of Pharmacists (OCP) as a Registered Pharmacy Technician (RPHT) is required.
  • Graduate of a CCAPP (Canadian Council for Accreditation of Pharmacy Programs) Accredited Pharmacy Technician Education Program and within 6 months of registering with OCP.
  • Knowledge of inpatient pharmacy dispensing processes, traditional and unit dose, is essential.
  • Experience with pharmacy automation, including unit dose packaging and automated dispensing cabinets, is preferred.
  • Demonstrated accuracy, organizational skills, problem-solving, and multi-tasking skills are required.
  • Proven effective verbal and written communication is essential.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment is required.
  • Computer skills related to Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel, are preferred.

  • Demonstrates an understanding of and commitment to Lakeridge Health's comprehensive safety programs and practices, including staff safety, patient safety, environmental safety, and participates in regular in-service education in this area.
  • Proven good attendance record with capability of maintaining this same standard.

  • The terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with the Collective Agreement between the Hospital and OPSEU Local 348.
  • Successful External applicants must provide a satisfactory Criminal Investigation Reference for the vulnerable sector, dated within the past six (6) months.
