Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team at Lakeridge Health. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy, quality, and timeliness of pharmaceutical products and releases.

Key Responsibilities
  • Reporting to the Manager, Pharmacy, you will be accountable for the technical aspects of drug distribution and work to ensure patient safety.
  • You will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and quality of pharmaceutical products and releases, and for maintaining a high level of organizational skills and problem-solving abilities.
  • As a Pharmacy Technician, you will work effectively in a team environment and demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • You will also be responsible for maintaining knowledge of inpatient pharmacy dispensing processes, including traditional and unit dose, and for staying up-to-date with pharmacy automation, including unit dose packaging and automated dispensing cabinets.
Qualifications
  • Registration with the Ontario College of Pharmacists (OCP) as a Registered Pharmacy Technician (RPHT)
  • Graduate of a CCAPP (Canadian Council for Accreditation of Pharmacy Programs) Accredited Pharmacy Technician Education Program and within 6 months of registering with OCP
  • Knowledge of inpatient pharmacy dispensing processes- traditional and unit dose
  • Knowledge of pharmacy automation including experience with unit dose packaging and automated dispensing cabinets preferred
  • Demonstrated accuracy, organizational skills, problem-solving and multi-tasking skills
  • Proven effective verbal and written communication
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Computer skills related to Microsoft Office including Word and Excel are preferred
