Key Responsibilities:
- Hire, Motivate, and Mentor Team Members: Lead and develop a high-performing team of produce department staff, providing coaching, training, and feedback to ensure they meet their full potential.
- Lead, Coach, and Train Team Members: Foster a culture of excellence, promoting a positive and productive work environment, and ensuring that team members are equipped with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed.
- Resolve Team Member and Customer Issues: Address and resolve any issues that may arise, ensuring that customer complaints are handled promptly and professionally.
- Merchandise, Manage Inventory, Schedule, and Financial Objectives: Oversee the daily operations of the produce department, including merchandise planning, inventory management, scheduling, and financial performance.
- Implement Initiatives that Support Company Objectives: Develop and implement strategies to drive sales growth, improve customer satisfaction, and increase operational efficiency.
- Monitor Local Competitors and React to Local Market Conditions: Stay up-to-date with market trends and competitor activity, making adjustments to our strategies as needed to maintain a competitive edge.
- Provide Exceptional Customer Service: Ensure that every customer interaction is positive and memorable, promoting a culture of customer-centricity throughout the produce department.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 Years Experience in a Produce Department with Management Experience and Product Knowledge: Proven track record of success in a produce department management role, with a deep understanding of produce products and operations.
- Thorough Understanding of Financials with a Proven Track Record of Delivering on Financial Targets: Strong financial acumen, with a history of meeting or exceeding sales and profit targets.
- Strong Computer Skills and Ability to Quickly Learn New Systems: Proficient in using technology to drive business results, with a willingness to learn new systems and processes.
- Understanding of Employment Standards, WHMIS, Food Safety, and Loss Prevention Practices: Familiarity with relevant employment standards, WHMIS, food safety, and loss prevention practices, with a commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
- Ability to Role Model and Inspire Behaviour Consistent with Our Values: Demonstrate a strong understanding of our company values and culture, inspiring team members to behave in a way that aligns with these principles.
