About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Department Manager to join our team at Sport Chek. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for driving sales growth, improving customer satisfaction, and developing a high-performing team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive Sales Growth: Develop and execute a sales strategy to achieve departmental sales targets, including setting sales goals, analyzing sales data, and implementing promotions and displays.
  • Lead a High-Performing Team: Recruit, train, and develop a team of sales associates to provide exceptional customer service, drive sales, and maintain a positive work environment.
  • Improve Customer Satisfaction: Ensure that customers receive a positive shopping experience, including resolving customer complaints and providing product recommendations.
  • Manage Department Operations: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the department, including inventory management, visual merchandising, and maintaining a clean and organized store environment.
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with other departments, such as marketing, visual merchandising, and logistics, to ensure alignment and effective execution of sales strategies.
Requirements
  • Minimum 2 Years of Retail Experience: Proven track record of driving sales growth, improving customer satisfaction, and leading a high-performing team in a retail environment.
  • Business Acumen: Strong understanding of business principles, including sales analysis, inventory management, and financial planning.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and develop a team, including coaching, mentoring, and performance management.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with customers, employees, and other stakeholders.
  • Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing business priorities, sales trends, and customer needs.
