Job Summary:

Hundseth Power Line Construction (HPL) is seeking a skilled Power Line Technician to join our team in Regina, Saskatchewan. As a Power Line Technician, you will be responsible for installing, constructing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining overhead and underground distribution, transmission lines, switching stations, substations, communication networks, streetlight facilities, and infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate a variety of hand and power tools and equipment, including backhoes, trenchers, skid steers, directional bore machines, digger derrick trucks, all-terrain track machines, crawler dozers, bobcats, forklifts, and trackhoes.
  • Follow all safety procedures on the job site and report any violations to the foreman.
  • Perform a variety of assignments involved in all aspects of the installation, construction, troubleshooting, repairing, specialized testing, and maintenance of power lines.

Requirements:

  • A valid Journeyman or Apprentice Power Line Technician Trade card from the Saskatchewan Trades & Apprenticeship Commission or a Canadian Interprovincial Red seal certification.
  • A valid Class 1A or Class 5 license with a clear driving abstract, with a Class 1A license preferred.
  • Previous experience operating the mentioned equipment would be considered an asset.
  • Ability to travel extensively across Saskatchewan.
  • Ability to lift heavy tools and equipment over 50 pounds.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • This position is considered a safety-sensitive position, and all new hires will be required to complete a pre-employment/pre-access medical test that includes a drug and alcohol screening, as well as hearing.
