Job Summary:

Hundseth Power Line Construction (HPL) is seeking a skilled Power Line Technician to join our team in Regina. As an Apprentice Power Line Technician, you will be responsible for performing a variety of assignments involved in the installation, construction, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintenance of overhead and underground distribution, transmission lines, switching stations, substations, communication networks, streetlight facilities, and infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate a variety of hand and power tools and equipment, including backhoes, trenchers, skid steers, directional bore machines, digger derrick trucks, all-terrain track machines, crawler dozers, bobcats, forklifts, and trackhoes.
  • Follow all safety procedures on the job site and report any violations to the foreman.
  • Perform specialized testing and maintenance tasks as required.
  • Travel extensively across Saskatchewan to complete job assignments.

Requirements:

  • A valid Journeyman or Apprentice Power Line Technician Trade card from the Saskatchewan Trades & Apprenticeship Commission or a Canadian Interprovincial Red seal certification.
  • A valid Class 1A or Class 5 license with a clear driving abstract.
  • Previous experience operating the mentioned equipment would be considered an asset.
  • Ability to lift heavy tools and equipment over 50 pounds.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • This position is considered a safety-sensitive position, and all new hires will be required to complete a pre-employment/pre-access medical test, including a drug and alcohol screening, as well as a hearing test.
