About the Role

At Hundseth Power Line Construction (HPL), we are seeking experienced Apprentice & Journeyperson Power Line Technicians to join our team in Regina, Saskatchewan.

Job Summary

We are looking for skilled individuals to work on various assignments related to the installation, construction, maintenance, and repair of overhead and underground distribution, transmission lines, switching stations, substations, communication networks, streetlight facilities, and infrastructure across Saskatchewan.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform a variety of tasks involved in all aspects of power line construction and maintenance, including installation, troubleshooting, and repairing of equipment and infrastructure.
  • Operate a range of hand and power tools and equipment, such as backhoes, trenchers, skid steers, directional bore machines, digger derrick trucks, all-terrain track machines, crawler dozers, bobcats, forklifts, and trackhoes.
  • Maintain a safe working environment by following all safety procedures and reporting any violations immediately to the foreman.
Requirements:
  • A valid Journeyman or Apprentice Power Line Technician Trade card from the Saskatchewan Trades & Apprenticeship Commission or an Canadian Interprovincial Red seal certification is mandatory.
  • A valid Class 1A or Class 5 license with a clear driving abstract is required, with a Class 1A preferred.
  • Prior experience operating heavy equipment would be considered an asset.
  • Ability to travel extensively across Saskatchewan and lift heavy tools and equipment over 50 pounds.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • This position is considered a safety-sensitive role, requiring completion of a pre-employment/pre-access medical test, including drug and alcohol screening, and hearing tests.
Estimated Salary Range

$85,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
