Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced First Cook to join our team at Pomeroy Kananaskis Mountain Lodge. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking complete meals, individual dishes, and foods. You will also plan and direct food preparation and cooking activities in a restaurant establishment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook complete meals, individual dishes, and foods
- Plan and direct food preparation and cooking activities
- Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment
- Supervise activities of 2nd and 3rd
- Create new recipes with assistance of Chef de Partie
- Enforce strict health and hygiene standards in the kitchen
- Monitor portion and waste control to maintain profit margins
- Ensure the production, preparation, and presentation of food are of the highest quality
- Ensure highest levels of guest satisfaction, quality, operating, and food costs
- Knowledge of all standard procedures and policies pertaining to food preparation, receiving, storage, and sanitation
- Follow good preservation standards for the proper handling of all food products
Requirements
- Completion of an apprenticeship program for cooks or college or other program in cooking
- 1-2 years of commercial cooking experience
