Job SummaryThe Registered Nurse will be responsible for providing professional nursing services to patients with complex and unpredictable health needs. This includes independent nursing services, administration of prescribed medical treatments, leadership roles within the healthcare team, and facilitating coordination of patient care and discharge.
Key Responsibilities- Provide high-quality patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing interventions.
- Administer prescribed medical treatments, including medications and therapies, as ordered by physicians.
- Lead and collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure seamless patient care and discharge.
- Facilitate coordination of patient care, including communication with other healthcare professionals and families.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.
- Graduate of an approved Registered Nursing education program.
- Current registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM).
- Experience in Surgery and Emergency/Observation an asset.
- Knowledge of College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba Standards of Practice for Registered Nurses, Canadian Nurses Association Code of Ethics for Registered Nurses, and other relevant legislation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to adapt to changing situations and priorities.
- Experience in a hospital setting.
- Knowledge of Indigenous customs, traditions, and values an asset.
- Competency in an Indigenous language an asset.
The Registered Nurse will work in a fast-paced hospital environment, with moderate to heavy physical effort required. The ability to maintain concentration with frequent interruptions and adapt to changing situations is essential.
