Job Summary

Halton Healthcare is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Professional Practice Clinician to join our team. As a key member of our Mental Health Program, you will be responsible for advancing quality of care, clinical teaching, and staff development in our adult inpatient mental health setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and staff development.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to nursing and allied health staff on best practices and evidence-based care.
  • Collaborate with the Office of Professional Practice to plan and organize corporate quality management and educational initiatives.
  • Develop and deliver training programs to enhance staff knowledge and skills.
  • Conduct research and outcome evaluations to inform practice and improve patient outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain policies and procedures related to professional practice and clinical care.
  • Provide consultation and support to teams on complex clinical issues and standards of care.
Requirements
  • BScN or BN required; Masters Degree in Nursing, Education, or Health Administration preferred.
  • Active member in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO).
  • Certification with the Canadian Nurses' Association in Mental Health/Psychiatric Nursing (CPMHNc).
  • Minimum of 5 years clinical experience in acute mental health settings.
  • Knowledge and expertise in least restraint practices and non-violent crisis intervention.
  • Research and outcome evaluation skills.
  • Knowledge of mental health and concurrent disorders best practices.
