Nutrition Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nutrition Manager to join our team at Nova Scotia Health Authority. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, and controlling all aspects of Nutrition and Food Services operations within our Western Zone.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in nutrition and dietetics, with a minimum of 5 years of progressive management experience in healthcare. You will be responsible for championing the integration of nutrition care and food service, and for providing leadership and guidance to our team of dietitians, dietetic technicians, and food service staff.
You will work closely with our Director of Nutrition and Food Services to develop and implement new initiatives, and to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of Nutrition and Food Services across our region.
We are looking for a candidate who is a strong leader, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You will be responsible for building and maintaining collaborative working relationships with our staff, patients, and stakeholders, and for leading change effectively.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of healthcare operations, including financial planning, human resource management, and quality improvement. You will be responsible for managing budgets, staff, and resources, and for ensuring that our Nutrition and Food Services operations are running smoothly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities- Plan, organize, and control all aspects of Nutrition and Food Services operations within our Western Zone
- Provide leadership and guidance to our team of dietitians, dietetic technicians, and food service staff
- Champion the integration of nutrition care and food service
- Develop and implement new initiatives to improve Nutrition and Food Services operations
- Manage budgets, staff, and resources to ensure efficient and effective delivery of Nutrition and Food Services
- Build and maintain collaborative working relationships with staff, patients, and stakeholders
- Lead change effectively and make decisions that support the goals and objectives of Nova Scotia Health Authority
- Bachelor's degree in Nutrition and Dietetics or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited dietetic internship program
- Current licensure with Nova Scotia College of Dietitians and Nutritionists or eligible for license
- Membership in a professional association, Dietitians of Canada preferred
- Five (5) years' progressive management experience in healthcare as a dietitian
- Experience in scope of practice for dietitians, dietetic technicians, and food service supervisors, and food service management (patient and retail)
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and decision-making skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to interpret statistical data, and monitor quality and performance indicators and benchmarks
- Ability to build and maintain collaborative working relationships and partnerships, and lead change effectively
- Extensive experience in financial planning and human resource management
- Experience managing in a unionized environment
- Knowledge of applicable legislation, regulations, policies, and standards
- Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills with ability to manage conflicting deadlines
- Cross-cultural awareness and sensitivity
- Travel to other sites is required and must have access to a reliable vehicle
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
