About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Dietitian to join our team at Nova Scotia Health Authority. As a key member of our clinical nutrition team, you will be responsible for providing expert nutrition advice and care to patients, families, and communities.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in clinical nutrition, with a focus on patient-centered care and evidence-based practice. You will work collaboratively with our interdisciplinary team to develop and implement nutrition care plans, provide education and counseling to patients and families, and participate in quality improvement initiatives.

We are looking for a dietitian who is passionate about delivering high-quality patient care, has excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and is able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Foods and Nutrition, with a major concentration in Foods and Nutrition
  • A Dietetic Internship Program completion
  • Current registration with the Nova Scotia Dietetic Association
  • Minimum one year of experience as a dietitian, preferably in an inpatient clinical nutrition setting
  • Competency in dysphagia management, enteral and parenteral nutrition
  • Experience counseling patients in an outpatient setting
  • Current WHMIS certification
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office computer applications
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize, problem solve, and work under pressure of time limitations
  • Demonstrated participation in continuing education and upgrading of skills
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a multidisciplinary healthcare team
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
Hours

This is a permanent part-time position, with 30 hours biweekly. Hours may include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
