As a Dietitian at Nova Scotia Health, you will be responsible for providing competent, safe, and ethical professional practice to patients, families, and communities. You will advise on diet and food and nutrition across all health sectors, and provide leadership in team efforts to support the nutritional health of patients, clients, and communities.
About the Role- Provide expert nutrition advice to patients, families, and communities
- Lead team efforts to support the nutritional health of patients, clients, and communities
- Participate in the Integrated Dietetic Internship program, including preceptoring dietetic interns
- Employ an evidence-informed approach to practice
We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Dietitian to join our team. To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Bachelor's degree with major concentration in Foods and Nutrition
- Dietetic Internship Program
- Current registration (or eligibility) with the Nova Scotia Dietetic Association
- Minimum one (1) year working experience as a dietitian
- Inpatient clinical nutrition experiences an asset
- Competency in dysphagia management, enteral and parenteral nutrition
- Experience counselling patients in an outpatient setting
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office computer applications
- Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to prioritize, problem solve, and work under pressure of time limitations
- Demonstrated participation in continuing education and upgrading of skills
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a multidisciplinary healthcare team
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
