About the Role

LAPTOP REPAIRS & NETWORKING SOLUTIONS INC. is seeking a highly skilled Fibre Optic Cable Splicer to join our team. As a Fibre Optic Cable Splicer, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing fibre optic cables and associated equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect and Test Cable Signals: Inspect and test fibre optic cable signals and associated equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Trunking System Inspection: Inspect trunking systems to identify any issues or defects.
  • Blueprint Reading: Read blueprints to determine work requirements and ensure accurate installation.
  • Equipment Testing: Test equipment to locate transmission faults and identify areas for improvement.
  • Report Maintenance: Complete and maintain test and service reports to track progress and identify areas for improvement.
  • Troubleshooting: Determine the nature, cause, and location of trouble and develop effective solutions.
  • Work Assignments: Determine work assignments and prioritize tasks to ensure efficient completion.
  • Cable Installation: Install cable modems and software to enable Internet access and ensure seamless connectivity.
  • System Maintenance: Maintain and repair aerial and underground transmission systems to ensure optimal performance.
  • Cable Repair: Repair or replace faulty cables, power suppliers, and amplifiers to ensure minimal downtime.
  • Wire Splicing: Splice, join, and connect wires to ensure secure and reliable connections.
Requirements
  • Criminal Record Check: A criminal record check is required for this position.
Working Conditions
  • Work Term: This is a permanent position.
  • Work Language: English is the primary language of communication.
  • Hours: 35 hours per week.
