About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Fibre Optic Cable Splicer to join our team at LAPTOP REPAIRS & NETWORKING SOLUTIONS INC. as a key member of our fibre optic network installation and maintenance team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect and Test Cable Signals: Conduct thorough inspections and tests of fibre optic cable signals and associated equipment to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
  • Trunking System Inspection: Inspect and maintain trunking systems to ensure they are functioning correctly and efficiently.
  • Blueprint Reading: Read and interpret blueprints to determine work requirements and ensure accurate installation and maintenance of fibre optic cables.
  • Equipment Testing: Test equipment to locate transmission faults and ensure prompt resolution.
  • Report Maintenance: Complete and maintain accurate test and service reports to track maintenance activities and identify areas for improvement.
  • Troubleshooting: Determine the nature, cause, and location of trouble and implement effective solutions.
  • Work Assignment: Determine work assignments and prioritize tasks to ensure efficient completion of fibre optic cable installation and maintenance projects.
  • Cable Modem Installation: Install cable modems and software to enable Internet access and ensure seamless connectivity.
  • System Maintenance: Maintain and repair aerial and underground transmission systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
  • Cable Repair: Repair or replace faulty cables, power suppliers, and amplifiers to minimize downtime and ensure business continuity.
  • Wire Splicing: Splice, join, and connect wires to ensure secure and reliable fibre optic cable connections.
Requirements
  • Criminal Record Check: Pass a thorough criminal record check to ensure a safe and secure work environment.
Experience
  • Experience in Fibre Optic Cable Installation: Possess at least 2 years of experience in fibre optic cable installation and maintenance.
  • Permanent Employment: Be available for permanent employment and willing to work a standard 35-hour workweek.
  • Language of Work: Be fluent in English and able to communicate effectively with colleagues and clients.
