Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Strategic Accounting Policy Manager to join our team at BMO. As a key member of our accounting policy team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and compliance of our financial statements and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement accounting policy strategies to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to senior leaders and stakeholders on accounting policy matters.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to identify and mitigate risks associated with accounting policy.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with regulatory bodies and industry groups to stay up-to-date on accounting policy developments.
  • Prepare and present reports on accounting policy matters to senior management and industry stakeholders.
  • Stay current with changes in accounting standards and regulatory requirements, and implement changes as necessary.
  • Develop and maintain effective communication strategies to ensure that accounting policy changes are effectively communicated to stakeholders.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior team members on accounting policy matters.
Requirements
  • Typically 7+ years of relevant experience in accounting policy or a related field.
  • Advanced understanding of SOX, IFRS, and GAAP requirements and potential impacts.
  • Ability to interpret policy direction and realign/develop strategies accordingly.
  • Seasoned professional with a combination of education, experience, and industry knowledge.
  • Verbal and written communication skills - In-depth/Expert.

We offer a competitive salary range of $92,400.00 - $171,600.00, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, tuition reimbursement, accident and life insurance, and retirement savings plans.
