Job Description:

The role of Environmental Air Quality Specialist is part of our current team working on projects across the Northwest Territories, including Giant Mine. This position plays a vital role in air quality sampling, environmental permitting reports, emissions monitoring, and dispersion modeling.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform regular sampling at air quality monitoring stations.
  • Download continuous monitoring data and perform analyses and reporting of the measurement data.
  • Liaise with analytical laboratories providing sample analyses, ensuring analysis and data reporting schedules are being followed.
  • Conduct independent analyses, interpretations, and conclusions.
  • Prepare a variety of environmental reports.
  • Plan, report, and track schedules, stakeholders, and budget as part of project management.
  • Follow established health and safety policies.

Requirements:

  • Ideal candidate has 1+ years of experience in environmental services or related field.
  • Familiarity with air dispersion models, such as AERMOD and CALPUFF, is considered an asset.
  • Familiarity with project management concepts, tools, and controls is required.
  • Candidates should be able to work independently, adapting to remote locations and varying conditions.
  • Experience with other environmental consulting services is an asset.
  • Degree or technical diploma in environmental science, engineering, or related studies is preferred.

Compensation:

The estimated salary range for this role is $60,000-$80,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
