Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Technical Development Manager to join our team. This role will be responsible for leading the development of advanced systems engineering tasks in accordance with Safran Electronics & Defense Canada engineering procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the development of systems engineering tasks aligns with company procedures and standards.
  • Manage and/or generate systems engineering related documentation, including ARP4754A/DO-254/DO-178/DO-160/RAMS plans, high-level design, technical requirements documents, interface control documents, test requirements, test plans, methods of compliance, and present to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Perform environmental and EMI/EMC (DO-160) requirement analysis and support qualification testing and results analysis.
  • Collaborate with designers within cross-functional teams (hardware/electrical and software) to develop required designs/products and guide integration of subsystems.
  • Continuously participate and support program risk assessment and mitigation.
  • Analyze and solve detected problems within a team setting; effectively lead all technical aspects of a development program to produce a product that meets customer requirements.
  • Competence to perform validation and verification of the product at systems, hardware, and software levels.
  • Plan and conduct product technical/customer/Quality/Audit reviews and testing activities, reports, and documentation.
  • Effectively plan, manage, and achieve all design goals and milestones of the product development program.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Minimum of 10+ years of related experience with embedded control systems, preferably in the commercial aviation industry for Engines, Nose Wheel Steering, and Landing Gear control.
  • Competence in ARP4754A, ARP4761 processes.
  • Competence in DO-160, DO-178, DO-254 processes.
  • Experience in requirements management tools such as DOORS, ReqView, etc.
  • Competence in avionics/aerospace product development and project engineering principles, methods, and practices, including knowledge of Configuration Management and Quality Assurance practice.
  • Must be eligible to meet requirements of CGP (or ITAR if required by a project).
  • Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and e-mail.
  • Excellent analytical, strong verbal, and communication skills.

Estimated Salary Range: $120,000 - $180,000 per year
