Rehabilitation Assistant Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Rehabilitation Assistant to join our team at Lake Country Lodge Community & Retirement Living. As a Rehabilitation Assistant, you will play a critical role in supporting our residents in their rehabilitation journey, promoting independence, and enhancing their overall quality of life.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist residents with rehabilitation and mobilization programs as directed by the treating PT/OT.
  • Support residents with daily living activities, such as mobility and strengthening exercises, walking programs, and activities of daily living.
  • Provide education and training to residents on the use of adaptive devices, such as braces, wheelchairs, and walkers.
  • Monitor and report resident progress and behavior to the Therapist/Nurse, communicating concerns and changes in resident condition.
  • Maintain accurate attendance records and statistics for rehabilitation programs.
  • Set up and organize equipment and materials for rehabilitation activities, ensuring cleanliness and maintenance of equipment.
  • Contribute to the planning and evaluation of rehabilitation programs by providing feedback and insights to the Director of Resident Programs, OT, and PT.
Requirements:
  • Completion of a Rehabilitation Assistant diploma from a recognized school or a degree in physiotherapy or occupational therapy.
  • Experience in Residential Care or a similar rehabilitation setting.
  • Ability to pass a Criminal Records Check (applicable to British Columbia applicants).
