About the Opportunity

Welch LLP is seeking a highly skilled Technical Writer to join our team in Ottawa. As a Technical Writer, you will be responsible for preparing technical documentation to file SR&ED claims on behalf of our clients.

Duties and Responsibilities

- Interview clients to uncover SR&ED eligible projects
- Plan, organize, and execute engagements on time and on budget
- Prepare all necessary technical documentation for SR&ED claims
- Proofread and edit SR&ED project descriptions
- Assist in preparing financial documentation for SR&ED claims
- Advise and support clients during CRA technical reviews for SR&ED tax credit claims
- Document client interviews
- Gather client support documentation as needed
- Assist in developing project work plans and scheduling deliverables
- Prepare other tax credit applications, including digital media and film tax credits

Qualifications

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or Science, or 3 years of experience in science, technology, or engineering fields
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong client focus and orientation towards achievement
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Working knowledge of MS Office applications
