Senior Research Development Specialist

About this Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Research Development Specialist to join our team at the University of Ottawa. As a key member of our research support team, you will play a critical role in supporting the development of research funding proposals and increasing the University's research intensity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategic projects and activities to improve the success of research funding requests
  • Provide hands-on support to research teams in developing compelling research funding applications
  • Liaise between researchers and granting agencies to ensure all parties possess the information needed to optimize their chances of success
  • Design and lead workshops and information sessions for researchers on how to prepare high-quality funding requests
  • Cultivate relationships with external partners and collaborators for large research grants and programs

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in a relevant field or a combination of equivalent training and experience
  • A minimum of 7 years of demonstrated experience within a research-intensive university or similar complex research environment
  • Scientific/scholarly knowledge and experience in health research, science, and engineering or social sciences and humanities field
  • Substantial knowledge of Canada's research funding landscape and of current trends in research funding
