Environmental Support Specialist

Overview
Parsons is seeking a highly skilled Environmental Support Specialist to support technical and environmental activities in Western Canada.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with coordination of various site monitoring, investigation, and remediation projects, primarily at active and vacant petroleum and chemical handling and storage properties.
- Plan projects, develop accurate scopes of work, cost estimates, project plans, schedules, and deliverables.
- Work with project teams, including field personnel, project coordinators, project managers, draftspersons, and administrative staff, utilizing interpersonal and organizational skills to ensure project tasks are completed on time and budget.
- Perform data entry and QA/QC for soil, groundwater, and vapor data.
- Prepare do-lists, health and safety plans, technical reports, memoranda, and other project documentation.
- Perform other responsibilities associated with this position, including field work at local and remote sites, to support learning and professional growth. Field work may include, but is not limited to, soil sampling during drilling, test pitting, and excavation activities, monitoring and groundwater sampling using a wide variety of equipment, and supervision of drillers and other contractors.
Required Skills
- A 4-year (Bachelor's) degree in earth sciences, civil, environmental, chemical, or geological engineering or similar programs. Candidates with degrees in similar science programs will be considered.
- Prior experience in conducting site assessment, remediation, and preparing reports would be an asset.
- Ability to work independently and as a team player in fast-paced dynamic environments.
- Strong analytical skills for problem-solving.
- Experience working in a team environment.
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Ability to work independently and as a team.
- Demonstrates the values of safety, teamwork, service, integrity, and accountability.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Maturity in interaction and ability to operate self-sufficiently in the office.
- A valid driver's license.
- Prefer local candidates to the Langley area; no relocation assistance.
