We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Research Laboratory Operations Manager to join our team at the University of British Columbia.

Salary

The estimated salary range for this position is $5,220.98 - $6,124.46 CAD per month.

Job Summary

This role will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of a research laboratory, ensuring efficient and effective use of resources, and maintaining a safe working environment. The successful candidate will have strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and experience in laboratory management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate records of laboratory supplies, equipment, and personnel
  • Develop and implement laboratory operating procedures and protocols
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards
  • Manage laboratory finances and budgets
  • Supervise and train junior staff and students
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A university degree in a relevant discipline or technical program
  • A minimum of four years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Experience in laboratory management and supervision
  • A commitment to ongoing professional development and continuous improvement
