Public Health Laboratory Surveillance and Outbreak Strategy Coordinator

We are seeking an exceptional Public Health Laboratory Surveillance and Outbreak Strategy Coordinator to join our team at the BC Centre for Disease Control (BCCDC). This is a regular full-time position that will play a critical role in supporting the development and coordination of laboratory surveillance and outbreak detection, investigation, and management.
Job OverviewThe Laboratory Surveillance and Outbreak Coordinator reports to the Public Health Manager, Public Health Laboratory (PHL) and works closely with key partners to provide leadership in developing and coordinating ongoing laboratory surveillance and outbreak detection, investigation, and management. The successful candidate will have a strong background in public health, laboratory science, or a related field and excellent analytical, communication, and project management skills.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate all programs within the PHL to develop best practices for public health laboratory surveillance
- Liaise with BCCDC, local, regional, and national partners for surveillance data needs
- Provide analytic leadership using advanced programmatic skills to produce surveillance products
- Work with key partners to validate, gain support for, and assist in implementing projects related to outbreak response and surveillance
- Support the integration, validation, utility, and application of various information management systems
- Bachelor's Degree in Health Information Management, Public Health, or a related field and a minimum three years of recent related experience in information management, data analytics, or health research
- Advanced analytical skills in common programming languages and knowledge of query and report-writing tools
- Ability to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team while working independently to organize workload, set priorities, and meet deadlines

Salary: $74,618 - $107,264/year
