**Job Description:**

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Biomedical Research Coordinator to join our team at the University of British Columbia. As a key member of our research group, you will be responsible for managing the daily operations of our laboratory, including maintaining equipment, overseeing supply chain management, and ensuring lab safety protocols are in place.

Key Responsibilities:*

  • Maintain and manage laboratory equipment, including scheduling maintenance and repairs;
  • Oversee supply chain management, including sourcing new suppliers and negotiating prices;
  • Ensure lab safety protocols are in place, including regular cleaning and organization of the lab space;
  • Manage laboratory finances, including budgeting and forecasting;
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures for research methodology;
  • Conduct molecular and cell biology experiments as part of an active research project;
  • Analyze and compile data for report preparation and manuscript writing;
  • Provide training and supervision to junior staff and students;
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Requirements:

  • Completion of a university degree in a relevant discipline or technical program;
  • Minimum four years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience;
  • Willingness to respect diverse perspectives and demonstrate a commitment to enhancing one's own awareness, knowledge, and skills related to equity, diversity, and inclusion;
  • Demonstrated experience working in a laboratory setting and previous lab management experience preferred;
  • Ability to work effectively independently and in a team environment;
  • High level of attention to detail and excellent interpersonal and organizational skills;
  • Able to create and enhance a collaborative environment.
