About the Role:

The University of Alberta Hospital is a leading clinical, research, and teaching hospital, treating over 700,000 patients annually. As a casual Occupational Therapist, you will be part of the centralized Rehabilitation and Allied Health Program, working in a variety of areas. Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide evidence-informed services, focusing on occupational performance to meet the needs of individuals, groups, or communities.
  • Act as a direct service provider, consultant, educator, or advocate, functioning as an integral healthcare team member.
  • Engage individuals, groups, and communities to enable meaningful and chosen occupations, including self-care, productivity, and leisure.
  • Support clients to achieve optimum functional abilities and independence related to their cognitive, affective, spiritual, and physical strengths and limitations.

Requirements:

  • Completion of a bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university program.
  • Registration with the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists (ACOT).
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification.
  • Some acute care experience required.
