Looking for a challenging and rewarding career opportunity in foodservice management? We have an exciting role available for an experienced Director of Operations at one of Canada's most beautiful airports, Kelowna International Airport (YLW).

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated leader to oversee the day-to-day operations of our airport restaurant. As a Director of Operations, you will be responsible for managing all front-of-house and kitchen activities, including team member performance, financial controls, and quality standards.

  • Manage, supervise, and evaluate team member performance to ensure proper completion of assigned tasks and goals.
  • Drive management team/direct reports and hourly team members in new product introductions and promotional programs.
  • Ensure food quality and standards by maintaining recipe adherence and portion control.
  • Responsible for financial controls, personnel management, facilities, marketing, food preparation and quality, and general business operations.
  • Partner with Corporate HR to drive annual performance appraisal process for direct reports.
  • Orientize food and labor costs to maximize profitability.
  • Facilitate people development through succession planning and training.
  • Maintain adherence to company policies, state health/sanitation standards, and merchandising standards.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A bachelor's degree in Culinary, Hotel & Restaurant Management, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of increasing responsibility of management experience in a full-service with bar restaurant environment with direct P&L responsibility.
  • 5+ years of multi-unit restaurant management experience with General Manager direct reports or franchise management experience.
  • Aptitude to monitor and control labor costs in both dollar and percentage terms.
  • Proficient level of computer literacy, including MS Office and Point-of-Sale systems.
