MTE Consultants Inc. is a leading engineering consulting firm with a strong commitment to quality and lasting relationships. Our team of driven professionals has been serving communities throughout Ontario for over 30 years.

We are seeking an experienced Project Principal in Building Restoration to join our team. This role will be based in either Burlington, Kitchener or Toronto office.

Responsibilities:

  1. Lead technical reviews and ensure compliance with corporate standards;
  2. Investigate and prepare technical reports on building envelope, roofing, and parking garage issues;
  3. Develop specifications and manage the tendering process;
  4. Identify business development opportunities and lead proposal efforts;
  5. Promote MTE's technical profile at industry events;
  6. Contribute to the development of building restoration technical practice systems and training of junior staff;
  7. Expedite projects from inception to completion;
  8. Manage project finances, including timely invoicing and receivable monitoring;
  9. Enhance client satisfaction through effective project management;
  10. Assess and mitigate project risks;
  11. Ensure deliverable compliance;
  12. Travel to project sites across southwestern Ontario and the GTA, with mileage reimbursement for work-related travel;
  13. Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or Building Engineering;
  2. A minimum of 15 years of experience in building science consulting;
  3. P.Eng. designation is preferred, but experienced practitioners with other designations will be considered;
  4. In-depth knowledge of building science and structural restoration, including roofing, waterproofing, and masonry;
  5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including technical writing and presentation skills;
  6. Strong organizational and time management skills;
  7. Ability to adapt to shifting priorities and multi-task effectively;
  8. A valid Class G driver's license is required.

Compensation and Benefits:

We offer a competitive salary range of $100,000 - $120,000 per annum, depending on experience. Additional benefits include share ownership in our employee-owned company, group RRSP matching, wellness spending account, and access to professional development opportunities.
