Lead Estimator for Major Transportation Projects

With a proven track record of successful collaborations with Metrolinx and Infrastructure Ontario (IO), we have been selected to spearhead the Development Phase of the prestigious On-Corridor Works project – a landmark initiative that constitutes the largest project in Metrolinx's GO Expansion.
The OpportunityWe are seeking an experienced Senior Project Estimator to lead our Estimating team of the ONxpress Construction Joint Venture (CJV). This is an extraordinary opportunity to be at the forefront of one of Canada's most monumental projects, where your expertise will shape its success.
Key Responsibilities- Utilize extensive experience in construction estimating across diverse scopes of work, including civil, structures, track, and stations.
- Demonstrate expertise in design models and integrated digital delivery (IDD) software for precise project scope evaluation and quantity generation.
- Develop meticulous bills of quantities (BOQ) by leveraging experience and employing advanced techniques, including Bluebeam.
- Utilize an extensive network and deep knowledge of the industry to obtain competitive pricing from subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring cost efficiency without compromising on quality.
- Thoroughly research historical data, such as purchase orders, subcontracts, productivity analysis, benchmarking, and reports, to compile insightful summary reports and establish robust estimating guidelines for the project.
- Provide valuable insights into the design process, leveraging vast knowledge to ensure a seamless transition from planning to execution.
- Collaborate closely with stakeholders, including project managers and executives, to deliver accurate and comprehensive estimates that align with project objectives.
- Over 10 years of hands-on experience as an estimator in the construction industry, with a proven track record of successfully estimating projects of significant scale and complexity.
- A solid educational foundation with a university degree or technical college diploma in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
- In-depth understanding of construction methodologies, contracts, and cost control techniques.
- Advanced proficiency in standard Microsoft software (Excel, Word, etc.), A results-oriented mindset with an unwavering commitment to quality and excellence.
As a Senior Estimator with ONxpress Transportation Partners, you will be part of a dedicated team working on a historic project that will shape the future of transportation in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area. The estimated salary for this role is $120,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on experience.
