Job Summary:
The Research Coordinator (II) is responsible for applying specialized knowledge to initiate, implement, manage, and coordinate moderate to large research projects.
Purpose and Key Functions:
- Apply specialized knowledge of Indigenous research methodologies and best practices.
- Apply scientific principles to review, critically appraise, and interpret published literature.
- Conduct comprehensive literature searches and reviews.
- Lead and collaborate on the development of research proposals, grants, and abstracts.
- Ensure that research methodology is applied and all research material is handled in accordance with established protocols, policies, and procedures.
- Develop and present research findings and information to project personnel and stakeholders.
- Present at meetings, seminars, and conferences to share research expertise and findings.
- Design and implement promotional strategies to encourage participation and support for research projects.
- Support the development and delivery of webinars and training sessions focused on Indigenous research.
- Coordinate the development of research reports and publications.
- Coordinate the activities of research staff and resources to ensure that projects progress in accordance with predetermined timelines and budgets.
- Develop and manage research project budgets and financial plans.
- Maintain ongoing and clear communication with supervisor and project leads in the case of project delays or cost overruns.
- Provide lead hand supervision and is responsible for the quality and quantity of work of others.
- Provide orientation and training to research staff and project participants.
Requirements:
A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field of study is required. A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience is also required.
