Job Summary:

As a Clinical Research Coordinator at McMaster University, you will play a crucial role in implementing, monitoring, and analyzing clinical research projects. You will work closely with research staff and resources to ensure project progress and coordinate activities to meet predetermined timelines.

Purpose and Key Functions:
  • Apply scientific principles to review and critically appraise published literature.
  • Write sections of scientific papers, funding proposals, and abstracts.
  • Coordinate research staff and resources to ensure project progress.
  • Develop estimates of time and resources for research projects.
  • Oversee data collection, entry, verification, management, analysis, and reporting.
  • Use statistical software to analyze data and interpret results.
  • Design and maintain databases, data collection forms, and related programs.
  • Troubleshoot complex computer problems.
  • Write data management and operations documentation.
  • Liaise between clinic centres and remote sites.
  • Conduct structured patient interviews.
  • Ensure research methodology is applied and research material is handled according to protocols.
  • Participate in promotional strategies and related materials.
  • Consult on protocol development, student organization, and data management activities.
  • Develop presentations and present information to project personnel and patients.
  • Present at meetings, seminars, and conferences.
  • Keep project participants informed of project progress.
  • Implement and maintain research project budgets.
Supervision:
  • Provide lead hand supervision and ensure quality and quantity of work.
  • Supervise up to 9 casual employees at any one time.
  • Provide orientation and show procedures to others.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field of study.
  • Requires 4 years of relevant experience.
Additional Information:

Some schedule flexibility may be required for this position. Robust self-care skills and an ability to cope emotionally with encountering the theme of acute and chronically ill infants, children, and youth are essential.
