About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Tile Setter to join our team at Silverspine Contracting Inc. as a key member of our construction crew.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and measure surfaces to be covered with tile, ensuring accurate and precise measurements.
  • Mix and apply adhesives, such as mortar and cement, using hand trowels to create a strong bond between the tile and the surface.
  • Set tiles in place, applying pressure to secure them to the base, and align them to ensure a straight and even installation.
  • Cut and fit tiles around obstacles and openings using hand and power cutting tools, requiring attention to detail and precision.
  • Pack grout into joints between tiles and remove excess grout, ensuring a clean and professional finish.
  • Remove and replace cracked or damaged tiles, demonstrating a commitment to quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Install tile strips, completing the installation process with a high level of quality and attention to detail.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
  • This role requires a physically demanding work environment, involving bending, crouching, and kneeling.
  • The successful candidate will be required to work on-site, often in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Previous experience in the field of tile setting or a related trade is required.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in the industry is preferred.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills are essential for success in this role.
