About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Tile Setter to join our team at Silverspine Contracting Inc. as a key member of our construction crew.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and measure surfaces to be covered with tile, ensuring accurate and precise measurements.
  • Mix and apply adhesives, such as mortar and cement, using hand trowels to create a strong bond between the tile and the surface.
  • Set tiles in place, applying pressure to secure them to the base, and align them to ensure a straight and even installation.
  • Cut and fit tiles around obstacles and openings using hand and power cutting tools, demonstrating attention to detail and precision.
  • Pack grout into joints between tiles and remove excess grout, maintaining a clean and professional finish.
  • Remove and replace cracked or damaged tiles, ensuring a seamless and durable installation.
  • Install tile strips, completing the installation process with precision and attention to detail.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
  • This role requires a physically demanding work environment, involving bending, crouching, and kneeling.
  • The successful candidate must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing time effectively.
Requirements
  • 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in the field of employment.
  • Previous experience in tile setting or a related field is required.
  • Ability to work on the road, with occasional travel required.
  • Fluency in English is required, with the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and clients.
  • 40 hours per week, with a regular schedule and opportunities for overtime.
