About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Tile Setter to join our team at Silverspine Contracting Inc. as a permanent employee. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing ceramic tiles on walls and floors, ensuring a high level of quality and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare surfaces to be covered with tiles, measuring and marking them accurately.
  • Mix and apply adhesives, such as mortar or cement, using hand trowels.
  • Set tiles in place, applying pressure to secure them to the base.
  • Align and straighten tiles to ensure a uniform appearance.
  • Cut and fit tiles around obstacles and openings using hand and power cutting tools.
  • Pack grout into joints between tiles and remove excess grout.
  • Remove and replace cracked or damaged tiles.
  • Install tile strips to complete the installation.
Work Environment and Physical Demands

This role requires the ability to work in a physically demanding environment, with frequent bending, crouching, and kneeling. The successful candidate must also have excellent attention to detail and be able to work independently.
