About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Cardiac Sonographer to join our team at Kelowna General Hospital. As a key member of our Medical Imaging department, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic ultrasound procedures and examinations, working collaboratively with radiologists, cardiologists, and other healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Receiving and verifying requisitions from physicians for diagnostic ultrasound procedures and examinations
  • Performing diagnostic ultrasound procedures and examinations in accordance with established standards, procedures, and protocols
  • Organizing workload according to exam priority and equipment availability
  • Monitoring patient care and safety by ensuring procedures adhere to department standards, policies, and protocols

You will also need to be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing workload to meet deadlines.

Working Conditions

This is a casual employment opportunity, with work requirements varying between 0 and 37.5 hours per week. You will be required to work on a short-notice, on-call basis, and/or blocks of shifts pre-scheduled to relieve leaves of absence. Shifts will be Days and Evenings, with varying start and end times.

Compensation

The hourly wage for Cardiac Sonographers will be $40.83 to $50.94, effective April 01, 2024.
