We are seeking a highly skilled Cardiac Sonographer to join our team at Kelowna General Hospital. As a key member of our Medical Imaging department, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic ultrasound procedures and related duties in collaboration with Radiologists, Cardiologists, and other healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities- Receiving and verifying requisitions from Physicians for diagnostic ultrasound procedures
- Performing diagnostic ultrasound procedures in accordance with established standards, procedures, and protocols
- Organizing workload according to exam priority and equipment availability
- Monitoring patient care and safety by ensuring procedures adhere to department standards, policies, and protocols
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- Graduation from a recognized/accredited program in Diagnostic Medical Sonography (Ultrasonography)
- Current certification with Sonography Canada as required for the assigned practice area (such as, Generalist and/or Cardiac) and/or current certification with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) as required for the assigned practice area (such as, Abdomen/Small Parts, Obstetrics/Gynecology, Cardiac, and/or Vascular)
- Eligibility for membership with Sonography Canada and/or ARDMS
