Position Overview:
As a key member of the Medical Imaging team, the Cardiac Sonographer plays a vital role in delivering high-quality diagnostic ultrasound services. This position offers flexible casual employment, with work hours ranging from 0 to 37.5 hours per week, including on-call and pre-scheduled shifts.

Key Responsibilities:
The Cardiac Sonographer is responsible for conducting diagnostic ultrasound examinations and collaborating with healthcare professionals, including Radiologists and Cardiologists. Typical duties include:
  • Receiving and processing requisitions from Physicians for ultrasound examinations.
  • Performing diagnostic procedures in line with established protocols and standards.
  • Organizing and prioritizing workload based on exam urgency and equipment availability.
  • Ensuring patient safety and care by adhering to departmental policies and protocols.

Equipment Utilized:
The role involves working with advanced ultrasound technology, including:
  • Philips IE33
  • GE Vivid S6
  • Meditech HIS
  • McKesson CPACs

Impact of the Role:
The successful candidate will operate within the Echo Lab, a crucial component of the Diagnostic Cardiology Department. This department encompasses various services, including Adult and Pediatric Echo, Stress Echo, and Transesophageal Echo, performing approximately 11,500 Echo exams annually.
