Senior Principal Project Manager

The Senior Principal Project Manager is responsible for leading or leveraging cross-functional teams to evaluate, develop, and manage projects for research and technology. This role requires a strong background in project management, with experience in managing teams, budgets, and schedules.
A Day in the Life- Lead or leverage cross-functional teams to evaluate, develop, and manage projects for new product development and ongoing lifecycle management of products, processes, and therapies.
- Oversee and manage the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serve as liaison between project management and planning, project team, and line management.
- Manage the development and implementation process of a company's products and services involving departmental or cross-functional teams focused on the delivery of new or existing products and processes.
- Review the status of projects and budgets; manage schedules and prepare status reports.
- Monitor the project from initiation through delivery.
- Assess project issues and develop resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives.
- Develop mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem-solving with project managers, line managers, and clients.
- Gather requirements, work on requirements planning, requirements elicitation, and requirements management to ensure they meet the demands of project's key stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or advanced degree.
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, with a bachelor's degree, or minimum of 8 years of relevant experience, with an advanced degree.
- Comfortable dealing with ambiguity.
- Confident about being able to apply business acumen to help make pragmatic trade-off decisions between time-to-market, product costs, product reliability, product features, and budget.
Preferred Qualifications
- The degree should be in Physics, Applied Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related areas.
- The degree should showcase practical work in front-end engineering through solving significant clinical gaps in current and novel markets.
- Managed teams.
- Project management experience.
- Technical management: experience managing junior and senior engineers, including vendors and manufacturers, creating a mission-driven culture across groups.
- Clinical expertise: strong background in clinical study development and execution.
- Business acumen: successfully facilitated funding from donor organizations or within the organization for personal or corporate projects.
- Technological expertise: strong background in human-centered design and user-centered design.
- Organizational and soft skills: proven track record in developing relationships and collaborating with an international set of varied partners.
Base Salary Range: 120K - 180K
