Job Title: Graduate Program Assistant

Job Summary:

The Graduate Program Assistant provides administrative support to the Graduate Program Director and faculty members in the School of the Arts, Media, Performance & Design at York University. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing information on university policies, procedures, and regulations, as well as contributing to a positive and supportive team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative support to the Graduate Program Director and faculty members
  • Communicate effectively with students, faculty, and staff
  • Assist with the coordination of graduate programs and events
  • Maintain accurate records and files
  • Contribute to a positive and supportive team environment

Requirements:

  • High school graduation plus administrative training
  • Some post-secondary courses in Arts, Media, Performance or Design would be an asset
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Intermediate word-processing skills
  • Working knowledge of an online records system
  • Intermediate computerized spreadsheet skills
  • Familiarity with web content management software

Working Conditions:

The Graduate Program Assistant will work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, with a high volume of tasks and frequent interruptions. The successful candidate must be able to work effectively under pressure and maintain confidentiality.
