Job Description

The Rail Systems Manager is a key role within the company, responsible for leading and managing teams to deliver rail systems projects and initiatives. The successful candidate will ensure safe, high-quality service delivery, manage emergent situations, and oversee planned service disruptions.

Main Accountabilities:
  • Manage the scope of work in the project, including departments such as Safety, Quality, Procurement, Design, construction, contract, finance.
  • Ensure a Safe Workplace through the strict application of procedures, with the support of the Safety team.
  • Oversee the construction works to required designs, specifications, standards, and HSQE requirements, working closely with the quality team.
  • Manage the completion of design documents, drawings, and as-built drawings.
  • Communicate effectively with the Rail Team to build morale, positive work attitude, and performance.
  • Ensure project cost control management.
  • Deliver the project on time and on budget.
  • Develop management tools, monitoring, and reporting of technical, time, and cost with the project team.
  • Represent the company in meetings with Employer Representatives, consultants, and partners.
  • Negotiate Extension of Time and other claims related to the contract.
  • Manage the project takeover process.
  • Provide technical direction for rail system construction.
  • Lead and manage projects, including electrification and signal infrastructure.
  • Supervise project managers, design managers, construction managers, and subject matter experts.
  • Provide engineering support for maintenance, including troubleshooting and testing of signaling and traction power systems.
  • Ensure system safety and reliability, including developing and implementing safety initiatives.
  • Manage budgets, optimize resource allocation, and control costs.
  • Oversee contracts and procurement for maintenance and critical spares.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards.
Position Requirements:
  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, with a Master's level being preferred.
  • Professional Engineering Designation required.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience required.
  • 5-7 years of experience in traction power, rail signal, and communication systems are required.
  • 5-10 years of experience supervising other management or professional level staff are required.
