Overview


The position of Senior Railcar Inspector - Mechanical Systems Specialist involves conducting thorough inspections of railcars to ensure their mechanical safety and maintenance requirements are met. The role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to provide clear instructions and guidance to various departments.



Job Description


Key responsibilities include performing routine inspections of railcars using advanced technology, verifying image and repair validations, capturing data on system reliability and accuracy, and providing critical information to mechanical, safety, and regulatory departments.



Estimated Salary Range:


$85,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.



Requirements



  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required; a valid driver's license is also mandatory.
  • Candidates should possess at least three years of industry experience inspecting railcars or demonstrate exceptional knowledge in railcar maintenance and repair.
  • They must meet Transport Canada and CPKC's criteria for a certified Rail Car Apprentice or Mechanic.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to provide clear and concise instructions, are essential.
  • Candidates should be willing to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, and have a valid Canadian passport.
