Program Assistant

We are seeking a skilled Program Assistant to join our team in Mental Health and Substance Use services at Vancouver Coastal Health. As a Program Assistant, you will provide administrative support to our teams, ensuring the smooth operation of our programs and services.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide administrative, secretarial and clerical support to our teams
- Transcribe and type medical dictation and other documentation using various software applications
- Greet clients, provide resource information, and respond to inquiries
- Compile, prepare, and maintain statistical records for workload monitoring and program planning
- Receive referrals, schedule, and confirm client appointments, and receive clients and provide information
- Type material such as correspondence, psychiatric and physician assessments, discharge reports, memos, minutes, promotional material
About the Team
Our Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) team provides person-centered, team-based care to individuals living with complex mental health or concurrent mental health and substance use disorders in their community. The VGH ADHD Clinic provides short-term voluntary, timely access to virtual and in-person services, including ADHD assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning.
Qualifications
- Grade 12
- Graduation from an approved program in Medical Transcription and/or Medical Office Administration Certificate
- One (1) year recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
