The Link Youth and Family Supports is a renowned organization dedicated to empowering vulnerable youth and families in Manitoba. With over 15 diverse programs, we provide comprehensive support through crisis intervention, job readiness, and specialized foster care.

Job Opportunity

We are seeking a part-time Youth Care Practitioner to join our team at the Youth Resource Centre (YRC). This role requires providing shelter, crisis intervention, and basic needs services to youth in an emergency shelter setting. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure youth safety, choice, and control.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Incorporating Indigenous customs and traditions into daily activities
  • Providing holistic mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual support based on the Medicine Wheel philosophy
  • Working with youth to problem-solve and navigate various systems
  • Performing shelter intakes, assessments, and registration duties
  • Providing support and crisis intervention
  • Supervising and providing basic needs care to youth
  • Performing general facility tasks, cleaning, and cooking chores
  • Attending staff meetings and training as required
Qualifications:
  • Post-secondary education or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience working with vulnerable youth
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed care and the Truth and Reconciliation Commission's Calls to Action
  • Strong relationship-building skills and de-escalation techniques
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Certification in Emergency First Aid and CPR Level C
Compensation Package

Estimated annual salary: $42,000 - $50,000, commensurate with experience. A competitive benefits package is also offered, including opportunities for professional development and growth within the organization.
