Job Title: Government Services Employment Specialist

About the Role:

The Manitoba Métis Federation (MMF) is seeking a highly skilled Employment and Training Counsellor to join our team. As a key member of our MET Recruitment Office, you will play a vital role in helping clients achieve their employment goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct Assessments: Meet with clients to determine their employment needs and eligibility for MMF programs and services.
  • Develop Employment Plans: Create personalized employment plans that match client needs with available resources and services.
  • Provide Ongoing Support: Offer continuous support and guidance to clients throughout their employment journey.
  • Research Labor Market Information: Stay up-to-date on labor market trends and job postings to provide clients with valuable insights and opportunities.
  • Establish Community Partnerships: Foster relationships with local organizations, training institutions, and government agencies to expand MMF's network and enhance service delivery.

Required Qualifications:

  • Post-Secondary Education: A degree in Social Sciences or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and computerized case management systems.
  • Client Orientation: Strong ability to work with diverse clients, partners, and colleagues.
  • Organizational Skills: Excellent time management, prioritization, and adaptability skills.
  • Cultural Competence: Knowledge of Red River Métis culture and MMF programs and services is an asset.
