Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Policy Analyst to join our Engagement and Consultation Department in Winnipeg, MB. As a Policy Analyst, you will play a key role in shaping our community engagement strategies and advocating for the rights and interests of the Red River Métis.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct research and analysis on policy-related matters to inform our community engagement initiatives;
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government officials and community leaders;
  • Plan and attend community meetings to present information and facilitate discussions;
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement community engagement strategies;
  • Stay up-to-date with relevant policies and regulations affecting our community;
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders through various mediums, including reports, presentations, and briefings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, indigenous studies, social sciences, or a related field;
  • 2+ years of experience in policy development and community engagement;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 and other software applications;
  • Bilingualism an asset;
  • Knowledge of Métis culture and history is a definite asset;
  • Valid Manitoba driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle;
  • Ability to travel and work flexible hours as required.

Estimated Salary Range: $65,000 - $80,000 per year
