Cambridge Memorial Hospital is a thriving community hospital providing acute care services. We are seeking an Administrative Healthcare Assistant to join our Registration team.

Job Description

As a key member of our Registration team, your responsibilities will include:

  • PICIS system management
  • Registration of patients
  • Order entry
  • Accurate demographic information entry into Meditech
  • Verification and update of medical insurance and patient payment sources
  • Receipt of payment for services for uninsured patients and procedures
  • Assistance with accessibility needs
  • Preparation of patient packages
  • Collaboration with Surgical Services, Women and Child, Clinics, Ambassadors, and Physician Offices
  • Directing patients to various areas of the hospital
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Medical Office Administration program certificate
  • A Medical Terminology certificate
  • Minimum two years of current Patient Registration experience
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills
  • Excellent keyboarding skills (55 wpm)
  • Current experience in Meditech admissions and order entry
  • Demonstrated organizational and record-keeping skills with a focus on accuracy
  • Attention to detail and proven ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Decision-making ability, good judgment, and the ability to coordinate, prioritize, and develop effective workflow methods
  • Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities while demonstrating excellent customer service skills
