Opportunity Overview
The HR Technician plays a vital role in supporting the Talent Management program at BCI, providing administrative and logistical functions to ensure the success of various initiatives. This includes coordinating training activities, managing contracts, and maintaining the learning management system.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate internal/external/virtual training and development activities, including updating BCI's learning management system (LMS), scheduling training, preparation, and delivery of learning materials and training packages, and securing training space.
- Coordinate contract administration for Talent Management, including maintaining Talent Management budget and relationships with vendors.
- Maintain the LMS needs for employees/departments, including updates to training records.
- Respond to queries regarding training reimbursement policies, professional development plans, and general Talent Management topics.
- Support training analyses to evaluate effectiveness through survey development and administration.
- Monitor HR Training email inbox and respond to employee queries.
- Reconcile personal corporate credit card.
- Process invoices from multiple vendors.
- Support the research and development of the monthly learning and development newsletter.
- Prepare updates and documents regarding Talent Management-related activities or updates for posting on Intranet; represent HR on Corporate Intranet Committee; liaise with Communication team for HR communication needs.
- Represent HR on internal committees as required.
- Participate in special projects as assigned by the HR team to facilitate current and efficient HR processes, practices, and procedures.
- Provide back-up to other HR Technician and HR Advisors, as and when required.
- Actively adhere to compliance and risk management policies.
Work Environment
Work from our downtown Victoria office. We are an in-person collaborative organization with the flexibility to work remotely 1-day a week. Please note: Delivery of BCI's training program may require 5-days in the office at times and travel to our Vancouver office may be required on occasion.

The annualized base salary range for this Victoria-based role is CAD $64,000 to $75,000.
We pay our people competitively in the markets in which we compete for talent and with consideration to internal equity and job structure. We aim for actual pay to be around the median of the market for target or expected levels of performance, and around the upper quartile of the market for excellent performance.
Actual salaries may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors, including, but not limited to, experience and expertise.
