Job Summary

The Data Senior Principal Consultant will serve as a strategic advisor to clients, bridging the gap between business and technical teams by solving complex Workday intersystem problems. This role will guide clients through the transformation, implementation, and operation phases of a Workday implementation, ensuring seamless integration and optimal results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of Workday products, including design, configuration, testing, and implementation.
  • Reinforce company policies and procedures to ensure consistency and adherence.
  • Drive tactical direction of project workstreams, identifying dependencies and supporting interplay between different workstreams.
  • Lead, mentor, and oversee the work of other Consultants within projects, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
  • Design and generate data tracking and monitoring tools, developing reports with accurate, easy-to-read, and useful information.
  • Identify strategies, risks, and options, recommending approaches and mitigations to meet client requirements.
  • Coordinate and lead cross-functional discussions related to the execution of a Workday tenant build, ensuring alignment and effective communication.
  • Utilize technical aptitude to map data sources into Workday using Workday-delivered and Cognizant-built tools for the data conversion process.
  • Guide clients through the data extract and cleansing process, ensuring data quality and integrity.
  • Load customer data, migrate configuration from tenant to tenant, identify risks and issues to the overall conversion process, troubleshoot load issues, and document issues.
  • Create scripts to transform and load data, developing strategies to improve and normalize client data.
  • Lead the validation of data loaded into Workday, working with clients to ensure understanding of the data validation process.
  • Regularly engage and support clients through all phases of the project, ensuring a smooth transfer from legacy systems to Workday solutions.
  • Perform multiple tasks under limited direction, keeping clients, project teams, and Engagement Managers informed of changes or progress related to the project.
  • Willingsness to take a leadership position on a project, driving results and delivering exceptional outcomes.
  • Utilize technical aptitude to convert and map data sources into data conversion templates via all Workday load methods.
  • Act as a mentor to fellow consultants and analysts, providing support for shadow assignments and sharing expertise.
  • Participate in update training and internal opportunities to share skills and learnings with others within the organization.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by manager, contributing to the success of the team and the organization.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Certification in Workday.
  • 4+ years of Workday functional implementation experience required.
  • 5 years Human Resources, Payroll, Student, or Financial software experience required.
  • Experience with data conversion, data mining, and data loading.
  • Demonstrated functional experience in Human Resources, Payroll, Student, or Financials Management.
  • Minimal travel required, but willingness to travel on-site if needed.
